Heart of Gold by Neil Young

Neil Young's Billboard Number One song. To me, this song is about trying to become a good person, charitable and selfless. It is about finding happiness through giving to, and loving, others. Is Young searching for his own heart to be gold, or searching for another heart of gold? Other interpretations I've read seem to favor the view that the "heart of gold" belongs to somebody else. The song is off of Young's Harvest album, which also went to number one. According to critics, the album was influenced by Nashville country music. Indeed, Linda Ronstadt sings backup vocals on Heart of Gold.
The song starts out with some guitar strumming and drums, and then a harmonica comes into the arrangement to add some melody. I'd like to be able to play this melody on my harmonica.

I wanna live;
I wanna give;
I've been a miner for a heart of gold.

It's these expressions I never give;
That keep me searchin for a heart of gold.

And I'm gettin old.
Keep me searchin for a heart of gold.
And I'm gettin old.

I've been to Hollywood;
I've been to Redwood;
I've crossed the ocean for a heart of gold.

I've been in my mind;
It's such a fine line;
That keeps me searchin for a heart of gold.

And I'm gettin old.
Keeps me searchin for a heart of gold.
And I'm gettin old.

Keep me searchin for a heart of gold.
You keep me searchin and I'm growing old.
Keep me searchin for a heart of gold.
I've been a miner for a heart of gold.
