Steeler Stuff
Well, I wasn't able to stay awake long enough last night to watch Ben on Letterman. I was so tired from having to be at work so early yesterday. Damn! I always watch Letterman, and the one time I really should watch it, I couldn't make it.
The Patriots are getting a lot of good press about being able to keep winning with all of their injuries, but the Steelers are going through the same type of situation. As a sidenote, so are the Hawkeyes, who are on their 27th string tailback of the season.
I hope the injuries don't ruin the season, but I don't expect that they will be a huge factor. Most of the injuries are not that serious (some are), and key players should be back in time for the playoffs. I don't know what the Steelers are going to do with Kendrell Bell. I really like him, but the guy just gets injured too often. I anticipate he will be cut this offseason to free up some money to resign Plaxico, of whom I am a big fan. I think Plax really wants to stay in Pittsburgh with Ben. They are good friends, and it seems like Plax realizes he can have a great career in Pittsburgh with Ben.
The Steelers should be able to beat Washington on Sunday. I am a lot more confident about this game that I was for either the Cleveland or Cincinatti game. Let's face it: Washington stinks! Their offense is absolutely pathetic. Their defense will be a good test for Ben. Staley might play, but I don't think they should chance anything, especially the way Bettis has been running. Give him the extra week of rest.
Go Steelers!!
